Heatwave

So we watched this movie called Heatwave in our class which is about the L.A. riots that arose in the 60's. The movie follows Bob Richardson and some of his family members once they move to L.A. in search of jobs and a better life. Bob's dad Cliff struggles to find a job because of his race even though he is well qualified for most of them. Richardson's friends and family have to deal with the constant racism, and being put down by others in the city. Bob and his brother JT have different personalities. Bob is very proactive, smart, and somewhat of a flirt. JT actually participates in the riots and calls out bob for not wanting to join and stand up for people of his won race. Bob on the other hand gets a job at the L.A. Times as a messenger but end up covering the riots instead of joining them since he can easily get in and out of the neighborhood compared to the rest of the white reporters who work at the L.A. Times. Along the way Bob meets a white police officer who gets along with Bob and other family and friends of his.

News STA(wesome)FF!

I think it'd be easier to explain what doesn't make the News staff the best, because that list would be way shorter... The NEWS staff is the best because were a group that is smaller than others so we know each other better. Not only that but we find the stuff people want to read about, people are attracted to our section in the website, we interview important people and give people news that is recent. We interact with people inside and outside the school! Aside from all that were still the best

I found this story very intriguing and interesting and i would like to write about it because it is a little bit out of the ordinary.... it's not something you see/ hear about everyday and i think people at bell wpuld like to hear about it.

I found an article

I found this article concerning a new law in missouri which requires women to wait at least 72 hours before having an abortion. Which is interesting because of the wait time, other states only usually require 24 hours if it relates rape or incest. It's pretty interesting..... and eye opening so go check it out http://touch.latimes.com/#section/607/article/p2p-81338491/

All the Presidents Men

All the President's Men is about these 2 reporters Bob Woodward, and Carl Burnstein who investigate the watergate scandal that later led to to the resignation of president Nixon. I learned from these two reporters that no matter how many dead ends or leads you get you have to be persistent.

All About Me

Hello, My name is Maritza Anguiano! And I'm going to tell you all about me but not everything because that'd be really weird... Okay anyway I'm currently a student at a high school located in California, I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things. My favorite bands would have to be the Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys,  The 1975, and The Neighbourhood. I like love the guitarist from The 1975 and the bassist from The Neighbourhood (Adam Hann and Zach Abels). I love to eat ramen noodles and italian food. I have an unhealthy obsession with online shopping, hanging out with my friends and LUSH Cosmetics products.
